The focus of the course is aviation human factors - the study of the relationship between the safety and efficiency of an aviation system and the people, tasks, environment, and technology making up that system, incorporating: human behaviour, human information processing, decision making and situation awareness, human error, automation, simulation, and training. A number of aircraft incidents and accidents will be analysed to illustrate key concepts in flight safety.
