In this course we will undertake an examination of a range of anti-terrorism laws from around the world, emphasising those enacted since the terrorist attacks on the United States on 11 September 2001. The purpose is to compare: the ways in which legal systems have sought to respond to the threat of terrorist attack and the extent to which this has challenged fundamental principles including the separation of powers and the rule of law.
